International Programmes Coordinator / International Marketing & Recruitment - 50%
Who are we?
KdG University of Applied Sciences comprises 9 campuses, 38 degree programmes, over 100 continuing education programmes, 6 research centres, approximately 14,700 students and 1,599 staff members.
We want to be an employer where you feel valued and at home.
Are you looking for a job with a positive impact on society, in an environment where collaboration and inclusion are central? Then you might be just the right person to strengthen our Internationalisation Office!
Within the Education Directorate, the International Office is working to advance KdG’s internationalisation goals, including the development and organisation of English-taught programmes and the corresponding international student intake. This position supports KdG’s transition from a predominantly Dutch-taught university of applied sciences to an institution with a well-developed portfolio of English-taught bachelor’s programmes, a coherent international student journey, and a targeted international marketing and recruitment approach.
What is your role?
You develop and coordinate the policy, organisation and further expansion of our English-taught programmes, and attracting the right students (International Marketing & Recruitment). You ensure alignment between programmes and services (including internationalisation, student administration, admissions, student services, marketing & communications), and translate policy decisions into feasible processes and implementation.
What will you be doing in practice?
- You coordinate the entire student journey for international students, from initial contact to graduation. You will bring together the relevant departments – programmes, admissions, student services, the International Office, etc. – and facilitate smooth collaboration, clear agreements and efficient processes. In doing so, you will keep an eye on both operational activities and strategic decisions, and manage the associated budget.
- You coordinate the International Marketing & Recruitment team, which is responsible for attracting the right international students. You manage the marketing and recruitment plan (budget, target markets, campaigns and partnerships), supported by the expertise within the team.
- You safeguard and represent the vision for KdG’s international programme portfolio, both internally and externally. To this end, you analyse enrolment data, market and competitor intelligence, and relevant regulations.
You will be based at Campus South / hybrid.
Sofie Schoonbaert, Head of Internationalisation, will be your supervisor.
What is your profile?
- You are someone who thrives on building, connecting and improving.
- You are an intrapreneur at heart: you spot opportunities, take initiative and effortlessly get others on board .
- You think ahead, create clarity in complex issues and know how to align different interests in a single, clear direction.
- You navigate with ease between strategy, projects and implementation. You understand how education, services, marketing/recruitment and budgets influence one another, and you make well-considered decisions that strengthen the whole.
- Communication is your superpower. You switch effortlessly between Dutch and English (both at a C1 level), easily coordinate with various teams and convince others through clarity, empathy and substance.
- You thrive in a dynamic environment. International regulations, Flemish legislation, changing markets, the specific needs of international students, internal structures: above all, you see opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- You have relevant experience in project coordination and stakeholder management, and have an affinity or understanding of international target groups. Experience with English-language programmes and international students is a bonus.
- You have a genuine passion for international marketing and international student recruitment. Experience is a strong plus, as is your drive to make an impact in this field.
You also hold a master’s degree or equivalent experience[1] .
What do we offer you?
- A part-time[2] role (50%) as a contract staff member[3], starting as soon as possible. You will be offered two consecutive one-year contracts, which may be converted to a permanent contract following a positive evaluation.
- A salary based on your competencies and experience within the salary scale A11–A21 (equivalent to pay scales 585–586–587). Click here for more information.
- A warm welcome. Your colleagues are ready to offer you the necessary support right from the start.
- An environment that gives you ample space and responsibility to carry out your role.
- Three times per academic year, we organise a KdG-wide staff welcome day where you will get to know KdG better as an organisation. You will also have the opportunity to take advantage of a wide range of internal and external training opportunities.
- Our commitment to continuously building an inclusive working environment where everyone can be themselves and learn from one another. We strongly believe in the power of differences and complementarity, and we are convinced that a diverse pool of colleagues and an inclusive context make us all better, stronger and more talented.
- Benefits such as flexible working hours, the option of hybrid working, a laptop (for assignments of 30% or more), a generous number of holiday days (45 days for a full-time assignment[4] ), an internet allowance of €20 per month, benefits @ work, a teacher’s card offering numerous advantages, and the option of hospitalisation insurance at a favourable rate.
- We reimburse 100% of commuting costs by public transport, and if you cycle to work, you receive €0.27 per km.
